Applicants should be aged 12-18 during the time of the course.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate the minimum of ABRSM Grade 6 standard in their application (although evidence of the exam is not necessary). Applicants should also list as much information about their music as possible; listing previous orchestral experience, theory experience etc. We do accept teacher references as part of the application process as a way of evaluating playing standard. Also the application process is a chance for you to tell us who you are, why you love music and why you love other things in life! All of this extra information would come into your personal statement.
The "Early Bird" deadline is January 1st 2016 - applying before this date guarantees being considered for a place at YYS 16 and decisions will be made within 2 weeks of this date.
The Final deadline is May 1st 2016 - remaining places on the course will be open for application till May 1st. However, sections of the orchestra may have been filled and there may not be any remaining places for certain instruments.

The total fee for the course is £380. This works out at about £63 per day for world class muscial coaching, set in one of Yorkshire's finest schools.
You will recevie a decision in regards to your application within 1 week of submitting your application.
If you are successful in your application, you will be required to pay a £100 non-refundable deposit within 1 month of receiving your acceptance letter. The remaining £280 must be paid at the latest by Tuesday 7th July.
